Brajkishore Netraheen Balika Vidyalaya
is a non-profit residential school for visually impaired girls, located in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Our Mission
Established in 1989 and administered by the Brajkishore Public Educational Society, the school has spent over three decades creating inclusive educational and vocational opportunities for students from tribal and low-income communities across the state. Our mission is to empower visually impaired girls to lead independent, dignified, and fulfilling lives. We provide free education from kindergarten through Class 12, as well as undergraduate programs, following the curriculum of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Students receive holistic training through explorations in music, drama, dance, and painting - earning recognition and awards at various state-level events. To enhance future employment prospects, we offer computer literacy and call centre training. Since 2016, our students have operated Northern India’s only call centre run entirely by visually impaired girls, serving prominent clients such as Vodafone, CMPDI, and NCL. At Brajkishore Netraheen Balika Vidyalaya, education is about confidence, creativity, and career-readiness. Through a holistic approach, we strive to open doors for our students and reshape societal perceptions of disability and girlhood.
